Stone Veneer for Fireplace Walls: Real Natural Stone Around the Fireplace
A fireplace thrives on warmth, material and atmosphere. With Slate-Lite, you can create fireplace walls, stove back panels and hearth areas with a genuine natural stone surface – not a printed stone-look finish, but a thin stone veneer made from real stone.
The approx. 1.5 mm (1/16") thin panels bring natural colour, structure and texture to the fireplace, without the weight and build-up height of solid stone slabs. This makes Slate-Lite ideal for modern fireplace claddings, back panels behind wood-burning stoves, masonry fireplaces or decorative wall surfaces around the hearth.
Slate-Lite is heat-resistant up to 120 °C (248 °F), making it suitable for many applications around fireplaces.
For fireplace walls, stove back panels and decorative surfaces around the fireplace, Slate-Lite is much easier to plan with than solid stone slabs. The material is only approx. 1.5 mm (approx. 1/16") thin, can be cut to the millimetre and adds very little weight to the wall. This means that existing surfaces, drywall constructions, niches or older fireplace areas can also be retrofitted with real stone.
Technically, Slate-Lite is suitable for many applications around fireplaces: the stone veneers are heat-resistant up to 120 °C (248 °F). The standard adhesives are temperature-resistant up to 90 °C (194 °F), making them suitable for many applications around fireplaces and stoves. For higher temperatures, specific distances from the fireplace or special fire protection requirements, the project should be assessed in advance. As standard, Slate-Lite achieves EU class Cfl-s1 according to EN 13501-01 for flooring, or B1 according to DIN 4102; on request, a special composition up to fire class Cs3d0 is possible.

Each sheet is unique
Thanks to the 100% natural stone surface, each stone veneer is truly unique.
Easy to cut and adapt
Cut-outs, edges and joints can be adapted directly around the fireplace, stove pipe, niches or existing wall surfaces using suitable tools.
Only approx. 1.5 mm (approx. 1/16") thin & particularly lightweight
The stone veneer brings real stone to the fireplace without the thickness and weight of solid stone slabs. This makes planning, cutting and installation easier.
